Parks around Glenburn

In Glenburn we have 5 parks for the public to recreate in.  You can pick up a copy of the rules governing our parks at the Glenburn Town Office.

There are the grounds behind the school, which were developed thanks to the LWCF GRANT, playground equipment & swings - ball fields & a trail, however these are only available for use by the public when school is NOT in session.

West Side Park which is located on outer Ohio St, next to the sub station.  Here you will find playground equipment & swings, trails, basketball court, wooded picnic area & picnic tables

Lakeside Landing;

PARKING PERMITS ARE REQUIRED BY ALL!  Residents can get their permit at NO charge at the town office.  Non-Residents, may use the park but the parking fee is $10 per day.  There will be a parking attendant on site daily, please be kind, have your parking permit affixed to the passenger side of your windshield to avoid delays.  No permit you will be stopped, don't want to pay you will be asked to leave.

The park is located off Pushaw Rd, on Pushaw Lake, this is our small public beach & boat launch, with a nice dock, designated swim area with a float, swings, sand box and a lot of lawn space, 1 pavilion, 2- grills, picnic tables, for now a port-a-potty is available during the summer season.  There is NO LIFEGUARD on DUTY - swim at your own risk.

Glenburn does participate in the states courtesy boat inspector program through LEA & DEP, this provides an inspector at our facility checking boats for invasive plants and sharing the information regarding this danger to our Maine waters.

Butler Park, which is located in front of our Town office on Lakeview Rd, here is a fenced in full size basketball court, there are horseshoe pits by the flag pole as well

The Glenburn Rec Facility, better know as the Cookson Lot, here we have undergone a lot of development in the past few years.  Created new soccer fields, field hockey field, Little League added bull pens & batting cages, we expanded parking, added safety fencing down the roadside, added street lights, and worked on drainage issues, there are still a lot of improvements to the site plan to be accomplished.  This is also the site slotted to be the future home of a Glenburn Rec Center some day.  For now, this is where the Rec & Little league games and practices are held for fall & spring sports.  Plenty of space for walking, running around the perimeter as well.
