PLANNING BOARD MEMBER SEARCH The Glenburn Planning Board has an immediate opening for an alternate member to join them on the Planning Board. The Board is made up of five regular members and two alternates. Their meetings are held at the municipal building at 6:30 PM on the second Tuesday of each month. The Planning Board reviews requests for land use permits. At the monthly meetings, applicants have an opportunity to discuss in detail with the Board their intention of the land use that they are requesting a permit for. The required standards outlined in the town’s Land Use Ordinance are also discussed. After all the information from an applicant has been presented and the standards of the ordinance have been discussed, the Board decides by vote if they approve granting a permit.
The Board also reviews subdivision applications and site plans to ensure compliance with state law and local regulations stated in the Subdivision Ordinance. Applications for land use permits for shoreland zoned property are also required to be presented, reviewed, and approved by the Planning Board by following the rules of the Town of Glenburn Shoreland Zoning Ordinance.
Applications to become a member of the Board are available online or at the town office. If you have any questions or if you would like additional information regarding the Planning Board, please contact the Glenburn Town Office at 942-2905.
