4-8th Cheer Comp Squad
Our competition squad hasn't come together in a long time, however we are trying to bring it back for 2023-24. This squad would have to have at least 2 practices per week, Mon & Wed from 7:15-8:30pm. The Glenburn Parks & Rec will enter them into at least 3 different competitions. Like our travel basketball program this is an extra competitive piece of cheering. IF you want to tryout, to be eligible, you need to be cheering on a school squad or on a rec squad. YES, there will be a tryout for this squad, and only so many girls can be on the squad. The MANDATORY tryout is SET for MONDAY Nov 6 from 7:15-8:30 Cheerleaders have to be very committed to this squad, to the point where we do have a 3-strike rule. If you miss 3 practices you will be off the squad. EVERY practice they work at a routine with stunts, dance, and tumbling, if just one is missing it makes it very difficult to prepare & do well at any competition. Cheerleaders for this squad WILL have to purchase team socks, sneakers, & possibly cheer hair. A notice will be given to cheering parents in regards to a meeting time for this discussion at the beginning of the season. Being a member of the Glenburn Recreation Cheerleading Squad has many rewards’ and is a valuable experience. This program will teach these young athletes the basics of cheering as well as some advanced cheerleading techniques. This program is a great learning experience for cheerleaders wanting to continue on as a successful cheerleader at Jr. High School, high school and maybe even college. We are excited to offer these young athletes an opportunity to join a fast pace and exciting sport. Again welcome to Glenburn Rec Cheering.
