Marriage Licenses

Marriage licenses for residents of the town can be obtained at the town office.  Both parties must come to the town office with proof of identity and residency.  If either or both parties are divorced, you must provide us with a legal attested copy of the divorce decree with seal.  If either or both parties are widowed, we will need a certified copy of the death certificate of the deceased spouse.

The current fee for a marriage license is $40.00, and it is valid for 90 days.  There is no longer a three-day waiting period before the ceremony can take place. Once the ceremony has been performed and the officiant has filed the license with the town and State, you may obtain a certified copy of your license for a fee of $15.00 for the first copy and $6.00 for each additional copy.
